Deputy Sheriff Kurt Wyman was shot and killed during a standoff following a domestic disturbance in Knoxboro New York.

Officers went to the scene of a family disturbance about 9:00 pm when a man barricaded himself in his garage with a firearm. Negotiators were tried to get the man to surrender when he opened fire on them around 2:00 am, killing Deputy Wyman.

Deputy Keith Bellar of the Dickson County Sheriffs Department in Tennessee, died due to a gunshot wound he sustained the previous day when he stopped to help at what he believed to be a car accident in Dickson.

A Dickson 911 dispatcher had just completed her shift when her estranged husband began following her. As the vehicles traveled on West Walnut Street the husband ran the wife off the road. Deputy Bellar witnessed the crash but was not aware it involved a domestic dispute.

Officer Chuck Armour

Police Officer Chuck Armour succumbed to injuries sustained one week earlier when he was intentionally struck by a vehicle he had attempted to stop while on foot patrol in the Greektown area of Detroit.

The driver driving the wrong way down a one way street and was yelling obscenities at pedestrians.

Officer Armour instructed the man to stop when observed him driving the wrong way on St. Antoine Street at approximately 12:30 am. Instead of stopping, the driver struck Officer Armour and then turned the wrong way down a another street. He was stopped by other officers and arrested on Monroe Street.

Deputy Sheriff Jeffrey Alexander was killed when his patrol car collided with another vehicle.

He was on patrol and traveling northwest on State Route 427 when he lost control of his patrol car and struck an oncoming car as he went around a curve in the road.

SOUTH PASADENA – Friends and colleagues of the South Pasadena police officer who died the day before remembered him Wednesday as a hard worker with an infectious smile.

Kevin Sandoval, 23, of Covina was doing firearms training when he fell and hit his head, authorities said. In an email, Chief Joseph Payne said Sandoval’s death was being investigated as an accident.

Gov. Jerry Brown said that in honor of Sandoval, Capitol flags were flown at half-staff Wednesday.

“Officer Sandoval had a promising future in law enforcement and public service that was tragically cut short,” Brown said.

Sergeant Darrell Curley was shot and killed when he and another officer responded to a domestic disturbance in Kaibito, Arizona.

The dispute involved a fight between two brothers. Another officer who had responded to the scene was also shot and wounded. Sergeant Curley was transported to a hospital in Page, Arizona, where he succumbed to his wounds early the following morning.

The Berks County man suspected of shooting and killing a Deputy Sheriff Kyle PagerlyWednesday night left a suicide note in his yard two days before heading intosurrounding woods and getting into a shootout with officers, killing him, court
records say.

State police in Hamburg identified the deputy sheriff as 28-year-old Kyle D.
Pagerly and the suspect as Matthew M. Connor, 25, of 26 Pine Swamp Road in the
Kempton section of Albany Township.
